Writing- Dance and Health

Hello again!  It’s been a week, and I’m back!

I mentioned last week that “I like dance, creative writing, and art.”  And that’s true.  I participated in NaNoWriMo in November 2014.  I wrote the 50,000 words, but I never actually finished the novel.  Right now, I’m having another go at novel-writing; the progress is definitely slower, but I think the quality, at the end, will be much higher.

What’s different this time?  I’m taking the time to explore my character, and really figure her out- understand the the psychology behind her decisions and thoughts.  She’s a dancer, you see, and the pressure of potentially going professional, and following in her mother’s footsteps is really getting to her.  So, to increase her chances at going pro, she tries to make herself fit in a mold meant for someone else.

Now, I have a minor dilemma here.  I’m contemplating switching this from a first person narration point of view to a third person limited point of view.  I see the benefits and drawbacks of both.  Which do you, as a reader, think you would prefer to read?  Comment below with your thoughts, and maybe next time, I’ll add an excerpt from what I’ve written so far.

See you all next time. 🙂
